One Million Orders Later, We're Just Getting Started 💖

We are beyond thrilled (and honestly, a little emotional) to share that Lola + The Boys has officially surpassed 1,000,000 lifetime customer orders. To mark the moment, Shopify — the platform that has powered our store from the very beginning — sent us a commemorative plaque. It's now hanging proudly at our Chicago headquarters, right where our story began.

From a Mom's Idea to a Movement

When our founder, Irina Ovrutsky, launched Lola + The Boys in 2016, she was a mom designing for her three kids — Lola, Shia, and Julian — because she couldn't find children's clothing that matched their personalities: bold, joyful, colorful, and completely unafraid to stand out.

So she made it herself. Sequins and all. Lola, Shia, and Julian weren't just the inspiration behind the name — they were the very first kids Lola + The Boys designed for and tested all of our fabrics that made it to our live collections.

They were her first muses, and they still are. Every collection since day one has started with one question — would Lola, Shia, and Julian be excited to wear this? — and every order since is proof that kids (and parents) everywhere were asking for the same thing.

What This Milestone Really Means

A plaque is nice. But here's what it actually looks like to us:

First-day-of-school outfits chosen with pride. Birthday dresses twirled in. Sequin jackets, rainbow tutus, and statement tees that helped a kid walk into a room feeling like the most confident version of themselves — a million times over.

That's the part that matters. Because Lola + The Boys was never just about clothes — it's about giving kids permission to be exactly who they are, loudly and unapologetically. Every day deserves a little sparkle, and families around the world agreed.

Order #1 and Order #1,000,000 — Equally Amazing to Us

Here's something we want you to know: we are just as grateful for our very first order as we are for our newest one.

That first order in 2016 — placed by a stranger who took a chance on a brand-new children's brand from Chicago — meant everything. Someone out there saw what we saw. Someone believed a kid deserved to feel that spark of confidence when they got dressed in the morning. We still remember what that felt like, and honestly, we've never stopped feeling it.

Because the truth is, every single order carries the exact same weight. Behind each one is a real family, a real kid, and a real moment — a parent choosing something special, a child lighting up when the box arrives. Whether you found us a decade ago or five minutes ago, you didn't just buy an outfit. You became part of this story, and we don't take that for granted. Not once. Not ever.

Gratitude isn't a milestone thing for us — it's a daily thing. It's in every package we tape shut, every note we tuck inside, every collection we design. A decade later, we still open our doors every morning with the same feeling we had after that very first sale: someone chose us, and we'd better make it magical.

It also belongs to our incredible team, from the designers dreaming up the next collection to the crew at our 50,000-square-foot Chicago distribution center who packed every one of those boxes with care.

What's Next

As we continue to look toward the future, we are so excited to keep creating the best styles for all kids to express themselves and be their true selves — day in and day out.

And here's a little secret: we have some very exciting collaborations in the works that we can't wait to share with you. Stay tuned — trust us, it'll be worth it.

But our mission hasn't changed since order number one: to make clothing that helps kids feel special, confident, and excited to be exactly who they are.
